Anne Applebaum is an essential twitter follow to understand the situation in Ukraine, and her books (especially Red Famine) provide important historical context to the current invasion and indiscriminate murder of Ukrainian civilians.

Gabrielle Zevin's book Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow comes out today. As noted in my blurb, it's one of the best books I've ever read. It's a truly extraordinary book about making art and collaboration and friendship and love and surviving.

I just watched all of Jet Lag: The Game, and wow, it is wonderful. Joyous and funny and strategic. So great to see y'all branching out into new worlds while still making such great content on the original channel.

Fascinating piece on post-publication revision and authorial regret. It is nice to know I am not alone in rolling over all the insufficiencies and failures in my work. (That said, I'm not convinced revisiting the stories would improve them.)

By far my favorite TV show at the moment is Welcome to Wrexham, in which @VancityReynolds and his muscular friend become co-owners of Wrexham AFC. It beautifully expresses how, of all the unimportant things, football is the most important. p.s. Also, I am in the next episode.

If the sex scenes in 1984 or The Color Purple were filmed, they would also result in an R-rating. I still think high school students should be able to read 1984 and The Color Purple in class and check out those books from the library. They're important books.

Utterly brilliant. In this sweeping, gorgeously written novel, Gabrielle Zevin charts the beauty, tenacity, and fragility of human love and creativity. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is one of the best books I've ever read.
