This is really an excellent piece from Michael Lucchese in @dcexaminer about the Taiwan vs. Ukraine debate on the right. I don't agree with all of it, but it fairly and seriously grapples with the issues, trying to get to a solid synthesis. Bravo.

Typically insightful piece from @wrmead My only quibble: A narrower US policy toward the ME is not at all bad for Israel. US-Israel alliance emerged when Israel was a "regional sheriff" in the Nixon era. And hyper aggressive Bush 43 policy backfired, as Ariel Sharon predicted.
