Happy birthday to @brianamerige, my cofounder at https://t.co/9qm3DDEiW6. Brian is almost exactly 10 years younger than I am but I regularly benefit from his life wisdom. Here's a great interview he did on the state of social media.
To everyone asking me "What to do about nuclear waste?" check out this excellent article by @ShellenbergerMD. "Nuclear waste has never been a real problem. In fact, it’s the best _solution_ to the environmental impacts from energy production."
If individuals are left free to produce and trade in any area, it is essentially inevitable that cost will go down and value will go up. Whenever we see cost going up and/or value going down, we can be confident that government coercion is to blame. Great thread by @balajis.
Must-read thread by @ShellenbergerMD. I'll add one variable, which is that the false promises of unreliable energy were the pretext for global restrictions on reliable energy production and transport. Those restrictions have prevented supply from meeting growing demand.
Lots of great points by @BjornLomborg about the inability of batteries to solve the intermittency problems of solar+wind. Another point: To actually replace fossil fuels you'd also need electricity/batteries for the vast majority of today's energy that's is not electricity.
