Steve Krug is a user experience professional based in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He is best known for his book Don't Make Me Think about human-computer interaction and web usability. He also heads a one-man consulting firm called Advanced Common Sense. Krug offers in-house workshops where he teaches do-it-yourself usability testing and provides targeted advice to clients on web usability strategies. Krug published Rocket Surgery Made Easy: The Do-It-Yourself Guide to Finding and Fixing Usability Problems in 2009.

William Arthur Stewart Buxton (born March 10, 1949) is a Canadian computer scientist and designer. He is a partner researcher at Microsoft Research. He is known for being one of the pioneers in the human–computer interaction field.

Alphonse Chapanis (March 17, 1917 – October 4, 2002) was an American pioneer in the field of industrial design, and is widely considered one of the fathers of ergonomics or human factors – the science of ensuring that design takes account of human characteristics.

Alan Cooper (born June 3, 1952) is an American software designer and programmer. Widely recognized as the “Father of Visual Basic", Cooper is also known for his books About Face: The Essentials of Interaction Design and The Inmates Are Running the Asylum: Why High-Tech Products Drive Us Crazy and How to Restore the Sanity. As founder of Cooper, a leading interaction design consultancy, he created the Goal-Directed design methodology and pioneered the use of personas as practical interaction design tools to create high-tech products. On April 28, 2017, Alan was inducted into the Computer History Museum's Hall of Fellows "for his invention of the visual development environment in Visual BASIC, and for his pioneering work in establishing the field of interaction design and its fundamental tools."

Jakob Nielsen (born 5 October 1957) is a Danish web usability consultant. He holds a Ph.D. in human–computer interaction from the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen.
