Very good read. Please consider that the most extraordinary aspect of Russia-Ukraine is not the invasion, but the rushed response. Once Putin grinds Ukraine into a likely surrender, the costs of our policy response on both the Russian people and trust in West will remain.
1/n Mea culpa. I have been surprised by the magnitude of the financial sanctions the West has chosen to apply on Putin. A good thread on the CBR sanctions is below. I have been suspicious that the story on the ground is not as favorable to Ukraine as the Western press
This is a good piece. While many benefits to the “small world” connections facilitated by the internet and social media, the loss of physical connections/local community is profound. I have 5 neighbors on my property… phone #s for two of five. Unprecedented and unhealthy.
