Diaspora (1997) is excellent zoom-out sci fi. Impressive that it was written 26 years ago -- feels particularly worth reading now.

I've probably been simping @CJHandmer's blog a little too hard, but it continues to be one of my favorites. Love the 4D chess: more uses for solar --> lower solar costs --> better for Terraform AND solves big challenges in the process.

Dan was in @damccormick13’s grade school class (8 whole years behind me) and I remember thinking he was smarter than me the first time I met him (when an 8 year age difference was a lot). Great thread & strongly recommend following.

Stumbled on this 2015 @Noahpinion blog post - A Big Sweeping Theory of Modern History - thanks to (which is really good at uncovering great older blog posts). Pretty prettttty spot on so far.
