One of the best books I've ever read on this is "Beyond Liberal Egalitarianism," by Tony Smith. He's a Marxist but his summary of liberal egalitarianism is among the fairest and best I've read. Explodes a lot of leftist anti-liberal tropes before offering his own Marxist critique

Important from @MattGertz: Republicans are so disappointed by the failure of the post-Title 42 border surge to materialize that they're simply pretending that it did. But this wouldn't be possible without Fox News, which is actively fueling this deception:

Good piece by @HeerJeet on Biden's "freedom agenda," which rejects the centrist contrarians' false choice between culture and economics. "There are heartening signs that Dems have found a way to combine social liberalism with economic populism."

To grasp the deeper theoretical failings and delusions of this faux-Christian anti-LGBTQ campaign, read this great @MattPolProf takedown of Matt Walsh:

This is such a great essay on Richard Rorty, Alasdair MacIntyre and the liberal project properly understood, by @GeorgeScialabba:

Good stuff from @EJDionne noting that Ron DeSantis constantly talks about freedom while backing sharper restrictions on libraries/classrooms and the use of state power to punish private businesses that dare criticize his policies. Via @PostOpinions

Really good piece. To reiterate, one of the major intellectual failings on display throughout this whole saga, including from some who are getting it right on Tucker, is to vaguely treat "liberalism" as the common enemy of left and right populism.

"A younger group of Americans who are more diverse, less religious, care passionately about the rights of marginalized groups are watching rights taken away that they thought would always be there." @MelissaDeckman to @RonBrownstein. Excellent piece:
