Jason Rosenthal

Jason Rosenthal is CEO of Lytro which is transforming the camera into a powerful computational photography platform. Rosenthal joined Lytro from Silver Lake Partners where he was an Operating Executive.

Previously, he was CEO of Ning which was acquired by Glam Media. At Ning, Rosenthal led the transition of the company from a free, ad supported service to a premium subscription model. Under Rosenthal's leadership, Ning grew from 17,000 paying subscribers to over 100,000 in less than 18 months.

Before joining Ning, Rosenthal was Vice President of HP Software's Business Service Automation product line which encompasses the former Opsware product portfolio (acquired by HP for $1.6B) and leading solutions in the storage management, desktop management, and mobile device management space. Prior to Opsware's acquisition by HP, Rosenthal held multiple executive positions at the company including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Server Automation Products at Opsware, Inc.

Earlier in his career, Rosenthal served as director of product management for the AOL's E-Commerce Platform Division which he joined through the company's acquisition of Netscape Communications.

Rosenthal began his career working for Rebuild LA, the inner city economic development organization founded in the wake of the 1992 Los Angeles riots by Peter Ueberroth.

Rosenthal holds a B.A. in history from Pomona College where he also serves on the board of trustees and he received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
