Fantastic thread! In all my recent reading of the proceedings of the early 17thC parliaments, recusancy laws come up CONSTANTLY. MPs seem to have been obsessed - more than any other subject - with making them stricter. Great to read this added context.
Via @ByrneHobart, a very interesting read by Brandon Sanderson on the economics of (fiction) publishing.
Fantastic work, congratulations!
Have you read An Instance of the Fingerpost? If not, I highly recommend it both as a story in its own right, and for this very reason too. It provoked this year's obsession of mine with the 17thC.
