easily one of the best scifi books ever written
India was a worldpower highly civilized and full of riches and UK one of the least important european power barely having things worth trading when this whole thing started. Worth watching:
Also the today's history of the indian colonisation is told in hindsight mixed with a lot of UK propaganda Back then nobody would have expected Britain (not even important in Europe) of all places to be successful in India EC does a good video on this
Also, we have a very simplified pov on colonization today. Sidenote: EC has a great video on the colonization of India which back then was not an obvious future to happen. With Britain being weak and India rich and powerful.
If you are a big fan of etymology (and who isn't) you'll love @RobWordsYT (106k subs). He explains the origin of… well… words. And he does an amazing job at it. I recommend his video on colours (below) and why there is a b in doubt and k in knight.

If you are looking for a new scifi book to jump into: I can highly recommend “To Sleep in a Sea of Stars” by @paolini The base premise is the reactivation of an ancient weapon molded to the protagonist admit an interstellar conflict.
