also, this is not something necessarily new (as published this year), but maybe it could be productive to read Suaste Cherizola's article "From Commodities to Assets" together with Pistor's "The Code of Capital" (esp. ch1)

(perhaps already on your list) Elder-Vass' new book, particularly ch8. Sort of feels like a sequel of his 2021 article on asset circles.

Really interesting paper by @ProfArjalies and @DelGib in Contemporary Accounting Research came out a few months ago after many years in the making: "Can financialization save nature? The case of endangered species"
