The Twitter algorithm has changed.

You've felt it. I've felt it.

I ran a series of experiments to figure it out.

I found the ONE MAJOR change you need to know.

Here's 3 modifications I'm making right now to cut through the noise and master the new algo.

A 🧡
The experiment:

3 tweets. Same time, same structure, each day.

Focusing on one key Tweet element.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Comments
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Retweets
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Likes

One of these is not like the others πŸ‘‡πŸΌ
For years, Twitter users have been aware that commenting and engagement farming is highly effective.

But, here's the MAJOR change:

🚨 Retweets don't matter. 🚨

Comments have 10x the power of RTs.

No one is seeing your RTs.

Don't believe me, try this experiment: πŸ‘‡πŸΌ
While in the "For you" tab, scroll down the first 20 or so tweets.

Count the number of organic RTs vs the number of replies.

I did, here's what I found:

28 Tweets
8 replies
0 RTs

Now, perform the same experiment while on the "Following" tab.

Here's what I found:

18 Tweets
1 Reply
5 RTs

So, what does it mean?

- The "For you" tab emphasizes replies. De-emphasizes retweets.

- And since 95% of Twitter uses the "For you" tab, NO ONE is seeing your retweets.

Ok, what should we do about it?

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Here's 3 changes I'm making immediately: πŸ‘ˆπŸ»
1. My Call To Action

I typically finish threads with "RT the tweet below to share this thread with your audience".

Starting today, that changes to:

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Comment on the tweet below to share this thread with your audience.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» I won't ask for shares. I'll ask for comments.
2. How I Help My Friends

πŸ‘‰πŸ» The best way to bring awareness to a tweet in this new algo is to make a comment.

πŸ‘‰πŸ»If you tweet something I like, you'll get no RT from me, but I'll be sure to leave a comment.

πŸ‘‰πŸ» That's the best way to say "thank you".
3. How I End My Tweets

True engagement farming feels gross.

But I need to engage my audience to get views.

I'll begin asking open-ended questions at the end of my tweets.

For example,

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Do you agree?
πŸ‘‰πŸ» What do you think?
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Do you share the same sentiment?
The Twitter Algo Has Changed, So Should You - A Review

πŸ‘‰πŸ» RTs aren't being seen
πŸ‘‰πŸ» Comments are 10x more powerful than RTs & Likes

3 Changes I'm Making Today:

1️⃣ Change CTA to ask for comments, not shares
2️⃣ Help my friends with comments, not RTs
3️⃣ Ask questions, get views.
That's a wrap!
