How to build a profitable media empire (in just 6 steps):
In a recent Alex Hormozi podcast, he says:

"Attention is the New Oil."

Here's the analogy:

In the 20th century, billionaires were made through the oil industry.

In the 21st century, content creators with a large audience and unique edge are becoming billionaires.
This is the trend I was betting on when building my personal brand in 2022.

In 9 months, I've grown my audience by 400,000 using my content empire strategy.

Here's how it works:
Invent a Category and Own It

Peter Thiel famously said, "Competition is for losers."

There's a new gold rush for attention.

Standing out is getting exponentially more difficult.

The best way to break from the pack?

Inventing your own category.
Here's how it works:

1. Create a Venn Diagram with 3 sections
2. Title the 3 sections (skills, interests, consumer needs)
3. Brain-dump ideas into each category
4. Test different combinations of ideas
5. Find one that resonates
Leverage Content to Create a Community

"If you build it they will come." - Kevin Costner

This was an iconic movie line, but terrible advice for anyone trying to build an audience.

Community = Content x Consistency x Calibration
Here's what I recommend:

1. Pick 2 platforms
2. Commit to publishing 2x daily
3. Focus on content that inspires and educates
4. Calibrate your strategy (learn from data + growth strategies of each platform)
5. Refine your value (what are people resonating with?)
Follow The Data

80% of creators I know over 100k regularly check their analytics.

What do they look for?

• What time slots have high engagement?
• What are winning formats (content with >10k likes)?
• What's a leading indicator for virality (comments, retweets, etc.)
Obsess over Copywriting

Copywriting is a salesperson that never sleeps.

8.25 seconds = average human attention span

80% of your post is the first sentence.

If people don’t get hooked immediately, they won’t keep reading.
Here are my top 3 resources to get better at copywriting:

• Read the Boron Letters
• Check out @GoodMarketingHQ
• Practice Copywork (writing out great copy by hand before a deep writing session)
Design Is a Superpower

Bad design confuses your audience.

Great design crystallizes your ideas.

In a crowded race for attention, branding can supercharge your differentiation.

This slide alone has made Herb $2,800,000:
Stories Are Your Secret Weapon

People don't connect with brands. They connect with people.

Elon has 127M followers.
Tesla has 19M.

"If you make your story better, you make your strategy better." - Ben Horowitz
Here's why stories are powerful:

1. Your story is a lighthouse for like-minded individuals.

Tell your story (ie. how I built a content empire) and draw in people interested in the same

2. Stories make us human

People want to hear your learnings, trials, and tribulations.
