for my new followers, i wanted to let you all know whats going on with me and why art is so important.

I have a very rare eye condition called axenfeld-rieger syndrome that caused Glaucoma. axenfeld-rieger syndrome is very rare and only 1 in 200,000 people have it!
Glaucoma is a monster! I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. it has cost me way more than my sight. when i found out i was legally blind, i lost my job, my drivers license, my girlfriend, my band, and my friends. it was so hard! I lost EVERYTHING!
I ended up in my uncles basement doing nothing but feeling sorry for myself. I got fed up with myself and life as a whole! There were two options, I could face this head on or end it. I decided to face it! I decided that there had to be better out there for me!
I went back to the north carolina music scene that i grew up in, started creating art for free! I had already done this previously, but work and life kept me from going all in, now.... I had nothing stopping me! I was ALL IN!
I ended up helping alot of smaller bands, some tried to pay me but that wasnt why i was doing it. I wanted to feel good, Helping people was how i was doing that! I told them to sell their merch i designed and put whatever they were going to pay me towards studio time!
I built such a solid reputation that promoters and venues started coming to me, A LEGALLY BLIND DUDE for ART! I ended up getting paid for my work, not alot but it was something.
I had to get prepared to lose my sight so i went to the dept of the blind in richmond va, but before that, the entire NC music community came together and SOLD OUT Ziggys, one of the biggest venues in the state as a going away party!
After my time there i came back and got back to work! i started working with all the venues i could and all the bands i could! it was a BLAST! I went to so many concerts, it was hands down one of the best times of my life!
I got to goto so many shows that i helped out on and even got to stand side stage while Ace Frehley from KISS performed! It was something i never dreamed of! I got to do a poster for @JODYHiGHROLLER (RIFF RAFF) at the blind tiger in greensboro nc, then i got an email from Calen.
They liked my poster so much they wanted to use it for the rest of their tour!!! (not sure if they did or not) I kept going and kept working! you can see all the concerts ive helped with on my website, and thats not even HALF
I got into cryptoart because i learned i could preserve my art forever! after losing it all when myspace sold back in the day, i didnt want to risk that again. I have been grinding in this space ever since!
my goal in all of this is to show people that going blind / being blind isnt what hollywood makes it out to be! WE CAN DO ANYTHING! I will destroy every single stereotype out there!
The last time I went to my eye doctor, my left eye was 20/400 with 15 degrees of vision. my right one is completely gone. thats why i go by the name AwfulEye. Its a way to embrace my flaws, face them head on! I will keep doing that!
I welcome you all to join my journey! it's been a wild one for sure! Thank you to all that have supported me already! like i told @rareperkins & @SuperRareJohn I DO NOT QUIT!!!! & im proving that daily!
