The first solutions (implementations & wallets) were the network's POC -> very general, basic, all-purpose solutions to a generic problem (relatively low cost, scalable #bitcoin payments).

With the basic infrastructure in place, the next phase was to make running a node tractable. As always, we made simple tools to make more complex tools. The results - like LSPs - were unforeseen but vital.

In the current phase, we see more players entering more verticals (gaming, content, media, fintech, etc.) with solutions tailored to their particular markets. Regional verticals are big too, 'cause Vietnam ain't Ohio.

Specialization will feed growth will demand specialization will feed growth. As Lightning enters ever more verticals and becomes essential, it will fade into the background. Invisible but indispensable - like oxygen. UX will remain key.
