Thread
The exercise that has gotten me:

• 800+ followers
• 400,000+ impressions
• $$ + client offers

This content studying technique changed the way I write.

2 of my threads went viral due to this.

Here's the breakdown of the strategy:

(Hint: Justin Welsh helped me get here)
Learn from the top creators...

Follow this 3-step process to leverage the top creators:

• Graphic breakdown
• Interrogation
• Writing

Read on to see the breakdown of how...
Step 1: Graphic breakdown

It starts with you:
• Choosing a creator
• Choosing a thread

Then save:
• The hook
• Some of the body tweets
• The CTA

I'd say save 5 tweets in total.

Who should I study?
I recommend a creator you resonate with...

My examples:
@thejustinwelsh
@Jayyanginspires
@thatroblennon
@thegenuinejulie

If you want to try this strategy, I recommend starting w/ Jay, or Julie

They're great at:
• Hooks
• Formatting
• Authentically writing
When I did this I chose @thejustinwelsh

What were my results from doing this?

• 100's of followers when I had little to none
• 20,000+ impressions in a day
• 180+ likes

I had 200 followers at the time...

Back on track...

Bring the tweets to an art platform...

Here are some examples:
• Illustrator
• Photoshop
• Procreate (what I use)

You can even do this directly in a image editor.

No need for fancy tools, all we will be doing is underlining and circling.
Breaking down the hook:

Breakdown answers to these questions:
• What's in it for the reader?
• What brought the reader to read?
• What credibility does it show?

Overtime, you will begin to understand how to write viral hooks.

Studying is how you grow as a creator.
Breaking down the body:

Answer these questions:
• How is this formatted?
• Do they use lists?
• How long are their sentences?
• Do they have headings?

Breaking down how Justin used bullet points to make lists readable helped me in my early days here on twitter.
The CTA breakdown:

Answer these questions:
• Are they writing like a human?
• Why should someone click?
• Is there social-proof?
• Do I feel FOMO?

Answer these questions to become a CTA pro.

Save the last 3 tweets for future reference.

Here's an example:
Step 2: Interrogation

The hardest part...

Now that you broke down a thread,

I want you to figure out how you can write a similar thread, but in your niche and writing style.

How can you use their formatting to improve yours?

Interrogate yourself.
This is kind of like outlining before writing,

but on a higher level.

Start to put together your information in their hook structure...

Here's a quick example:
Step 3: Writing

Put all of your ideas into a thread.

Write your thread with the knowledge you learned from studying your creator.

Did they use multiple CTA's?

Try that.

Your creator is your guide.

What are some of the benefits of doing this?
Overtime you will gain a since of what writing works for twitter...

You will also gain your own writing style by experimenting with other's.

Learn how you:
• Format
• Use words
• Write CTA's
• Write your hooks

Here's the challenge...
