Thread
Recently I have heard lots of debate regarding 'shilling' and 'selling'. Should you do it? How do you do it and so on. Here is a thread with my thoughts, hopefully it might help some of you 🀜❀️

Pitchcraft - Long term connection vs Short term transaction

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
The traditional sales structure is based upon the following process;

Identifying a need
Matching your product/service to the need
Gaining agreement that the product/service is a solution to the need
Building desire
Closing the agreement

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
This structure is not appropriate for the NFT space for two reasons;

The need has already been qualified - collectors are established.

Twitter provides a platform with a direct path to the consumer and invites two way dialogue with no significant barriers

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
This new way of transacting offers tempting traps - Since collectors are one click away, blanket dm's will be sent to them by short term thinkers. Some of them might make a one off sale based purely on numbers. The smart artists will focus on a new sales process, a

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
process which is built open a foundation of connection, shared appreciation and an β€˜in it together for the long term’ ethos.

In this new world we will no longer pitch or shill work, instead we will focus on conversations with influence or outcome driven comms.

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
Outcome driven dialogue will require your focus in 3 areas;

The first component we will call β€˜Illustrate’.

Illustrate - In this opening dialogue we will be presenting the following;

Who you are
What you specialise in
How long you have been doing what you do

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
The second component is designed to build a desire for your work, we will refer to this stage as FOMO

FOMO - Present the following;

Any accolades you have won
Comparatively excellent sales data (floorprice trendline, collection sell outs, notable collectors,

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
featured on SR, front cover exposure….and so on)
Your meaning/why - what made you first attracted to your craft?
How do you feel when you are in the creative flowstate? Why do you value the relationship you have with your collectors?

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
The Mint - Gaining agreement

In the final component we are looking to secure an agreement of any kind, we will refer to this stage as the mint.
Utopia is a sale, but remember -we are not here to pitch, but to build longterm relationships with repeat business

πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
Therefore we recognise anything that get us closer to a sale. Including;
A collector asking for more info
A collector committing to follow and/or turn on notifications
Anytime ANYBODY agrees to retweet your pinned tweet
Gaining agreement to start an auction
Making a sale
