I think a lot about asymmetric risk, and that extends to my health.

There are certain conditions like aneurysms that have no symptoms but then kill you suddenly.

So, as a healthy 43 year old, I went in for a full body MRI.

What I learned amazed me…
I ended up here because I met one of Prenuvo’s team members on my Calendly calls earlier this year.

They kindly offered to comp my first session if I would write about it.

@prenuvo told me that 1 out of 20 of their patients has a life saving diagnosis.
What if you could screen for life threatening issues annually and easily? It is like the ultimate insurance policy.

That’s what Prenuvo’s promise is, and they really delivered on it.

I scheduled my appointment in a minute online and filled out a health history.
The space felt sort of like an urgent care - clean and modern. They were very efficient with my time and walked me right to the back.

I got my scrubs on and was quickly being scanned. You could even watch Netflix while the process was going.
1 hour later I was out the door and on my way. I got the report through their online system a few days later

I was pretty nervous before I got it, and generally relieved with the results.

There was one thing flagged as serious: a “syrinx”

I chatted with their nurse about it.
A syrinx is cyst in the spine. It can be symptom-free, but if it continues to grow, can cause severe nerve problems and require surgery.

I would have never known this was there without the scan, but now I know to keep an eye out for symptoms and track it year over year.
It definitely felt like the future. A scan of the inside of your body, expertly analyzed and digitally delivered.

I’m a big believer in this technology’s ability to save lives.

If anyone wants to try, you can save $400 with this link: prenuvo.com/?discount=XAVIERH
Addendum: Lot of arrogant MDs in replies.

Their logic is absurd: don’t have more information about your body (despite docs prescribing 40 million MRIs a year) because if you learn something, the same docs might perform unnecessary surgery or stress you out.
I have yet to hear one say that MRI scans don’t detect problems.

So MRIs do detect problems, and the scan is harmless, then the question is simply what is the cost?

Companies like prenuvo bring down this cost with scale and automation. They should be delighted.
A good example of the sort of thing that can be found even when you aren’t looking for it.

Wonder how any of the MDs advising against this view Michael’s situation. That he would have been better off sticking his head in the sand and not risking being “stressed” about it?
