How to hack your dopamine and 10x your focus, motivation, and drive for greatness:
We are living through the dopamine dilemma.

Modern living such as junk food, porn, and social media are all crushing your dopamine levels

Causing your focus, motivation, and drive for greatness to plummet.
How?

Cheap dopamine and instant gratification cause peaks in your dopamine levels (which you haven't earned)

After, your dopamine levels then decrease to a lower level than before - causing you to feel:

- Lazy
- Depressed
- Unmotivated
Your body then craves whatever gave you the previous dopamine peak so that you can feel better

Causing a cycle of peaks, drops and cravings - creating an addiction

But if you follow these 6 steps you can hack your dopamine and 10x your focus, motivation and drive for greatness:
1. Random intermittent rewards

Dopamine peaks each time you get reward

BUT, that reward needs to be on a random intermittent schedule for consistent peaks.

Reward yourself randomly after you do blocks of work and you will begin to look forward to working
2. Set daily goals

Dopamine is released each time you achieve a goal - regardless of how big or small it is

Set daily goals and write them down.

Each time you achieve a goal, cross it off and feel your satisfaction and dopamine rise.
3. Get more L-tyrosine

Dopamine is made from L-tyrosine.

If you’re lacking in it, you best believe your dopamine levels will also be lacking.

Eat more; eggs, steak, and chicken - or if that’s not your style, just supplement it.
4. Affirmations

Affirmations during uncomfortable situations increase dopamine and change your perception of the situation if done consistently

Eg when working out say during your tough sets “this is the good part, I love this part”

It sounds goofy - but it works.
5. Cut out processed sugar

Processed sugar causes massive peaks in your dopamine levels

But these peaks are followed by drops - which create cravings & addictions

Processed sugar consumption desensitises the brain to high dopamine levels and causes base levels to plummet.
6. Cold exposure

Short-term exposure at 57°F has been shown to ↑ dopamine by 250% with a substantial increase lasting throughout the day.

Cold exposure for a total of 11 minutes per week at a temperature of 45-60°F is the minimum for long term benefits.
