The Optimism Collective is our experiment in digital governance at scale.
The Collective is a band of communities, companies, and citizens united by a mutually beneficial pact to adhere to the axiom of impact=profit.

The Optimism Collective will be governed co-equally by two houses:

Together, they will drive rapid, SUSTAINABLE growth in Optimism, Ethereum, and the new internet.

The Collectiveās governance structure will not be one-and-done. There will be lessons to learn, and the Optimism Collective will adapt and evolve to answer to all of them.

The newly created Optimism Foundation will serve as a steward of the Collective, running experiments, bootstrapping the ecosystem, and eventually dissolving.
It will eventually defer all governance rights on-chain. This is a big step for building an ecosystem of contributors.

The Optimism Foundation will be led by two of the founders of Optimism: @jinglejamOP (formerly CEO) and @ben_chain (formerly Chief Scientist).
Joining them are @evabeylin (The Graph Foundation), @abbey_titcomb (Radicle Foundation), and Brian Avello (Maker Foundation).

@liamihorne, formerly Head of Engineering at the PBC, is stepping into a new role as the CEO of OP Labs PBC (the new name for Optimism PBC) with continued support from @karl_dot_tech, @optimisticjosh, @boedec, @b0bby, and the PBCās new General Counsel, Trevor Dodge.
Over the past 2 years, Liam has been key to leveling up the PBCās culture of excellence and weāre incredibly excited to have him at the helm of OP Labs.
OP Labs will be focused on building and decentralizing the protocol as well as product and business development.
