I was motivated to write this piece after observing a number of crypto market participants who I would usually consider as ‘financially sophisticated’ express somewhat unusual views around best practices for Treasury management. Given I’ve spent 15 or so years of my ‘real world’ career in or around Treasury functions of large financial organisations, I’m likely better placed than most to comment on this topic. I also don’t remember reading many (perhaps any) articles on this topic in the crypto space, so hopefully some readers may even learn something; and I’ve intentionally tried to focus on the basics to appeal to left-curves and midwits alike.
