In this episode @punk6529 gives @RaoulGMI an extremely cogent and clear bridge between #BTC #NFTs and the future. 🧵🪡👇

. @punk6529 captures something I’ve been trying in vain to explain: “The market opportunity for selling art and other things online is vastly larger than selling it through a sub-scale retail shop that on average has zero people in it on a Tuesday afternoon.” (aka an Art Gallery)
For example: I own some items which would be valuable on @stockx, but they’re in storage and I rarely think about them. Meanwhile my inbox is full of offers on NFTs I own, regardless of wanting to sell them or not. As a result, their market value is known to me at all times.
Imagine if products didn’t need to be listed, authenticated or shipped on @goatapp, @therealreal, etc — there would be orders of magnitude more volume and opportunity. People don’t realize (yet) that materiality is a hurdle not a strength in a market of art, culture, and fashion.
I’m going to enjoy watching regulators try to explain the difference between sneakers and NFTs… Which one is a security and which one is cultural capital? Let’s work to make the line so blurry they can barely see it, @RTFKTstudios, @pronounceddrop, @farfetch, etc…
If you’d think we’re near the peak of this NFT madness, please listen to this interview w @punk6529 + @RaoulGMI — it may convince you otherwise; we are in an early phase where we can see something coming and want it, but the tech and UX needs to catch up to the vision.
This is exactly what we’ll be talking about at @ParisBlockWeek @PBWSummit @parisnft_day + @LVMH Metaverse Summit this week. Be sure you listen to the interview before you arrive. There will be a quiz and we will not be grading on a curve.
Second, there is the discussion of user experience (thx @RaoulGMI for the kind shoutout!). I wholeheartedly agree with @punk6529 that this is not not simply about making our products easier to use…
This is about building consensus and leading the industry in making the future of humanity — which is networked, decentralized, and allows for sovereign ownership of digital goods — usable, safe, and secure.
I humbly acknowledge I, we l, me l, you, @Ledger, the industry as a whole have a lot of work to do (together) to get where we all envision this going. I’ll work harder and do more. Thx for the inspiration.
