It is a logical fallacy to assume that each thing or person you encounter is exactly like something else. Each thing is unique. Not everything fits in a pre-shaped bucket. Complex things- like systems or cities or networks have their own relative scales and gravity.
Not everything needs a token and not every token is a valuable money, not every fee is a tax. Not every person born in XYZ city or country is the same or acts the same or believes the same. It is false equivalency saying one trait determines the value of a person / network.
It’s a huge waste of time to bypass truly learning and skip to a conclusion that it’s “just like…”. This is of course is a mental hurdle for success in many businesses and investments as people search and study- and therefore devalue the observation process.
examples? The Next MJ. The Next Google. The Next Amazon. The Next JFK. The Next Gold. The Next Silver. The Next Instagram. The Next Bitcoin. Sure, someone can be called a Karen (a broad term) but calling a city the Next Miami? A city has 1000+ unique descriptive elements
Drawing these false equivalencies shows not only a lack of perspective but also a splinter or more of disrespect. Why? Because each detail has granular surfaces - like little freckles or pores that play a crucial role. There are good/better/bests in various categories-
“The Best 3 point shooter” Ok. “All 3 point shooters are”- Not Ok. It’s ok to categorize in broad terms but just like people get outraged by being lumped into a category based on information on their driver’s license…it’s important to rise above oversimplification.
In that train of thought, you can find the Best City For You. But don’t assume ‘all Texans’ or ‘all of Kentucky’ or all ‘New Yorkers’and think that’s solid logic. It is not solid logic. Investors flub this one by thinking there is a code allowing any companies to IPO on NASDAQ
#Bitcoin is not Digital Gold. It’s better. It’s way more complex. It has new surfaces and vectors and entire industrial application that has never existed before. It’s evolving. Make up new words and phrases to accurately describe it. They will join our lexicon eventually.
Humanity is complex. Not all problems are fixable with one tool, and new problems will arise- like rust or decay- on even the best designed machines or systems. There is a reason zen monks practice in a sand garden- life washes away our work and each day requires new work.
Thinking you can slap a token into a problem and it will solve more problems =kindergarten logic. That’s why most altcoins will never succeed. That’s the same logic as saying One Magic Pill cures or prevents all disease and almost everyone should see through that recent lie.
So- KEEP OBSERVING. Judge things in terms of gradients- look at their rate of change, rate of adoption. Is a city growing? Is that BBQ place sold out by 3pm? How much true demand is there? How many data points can you get before you see the DIFFERENCE?
You have to get to where you can see the differences. What’s the difference between Nashville and Austin? Bitcoin vs Gold? This regime vs that old one? People constantly blow it by assuming there are twin points just because of one related trait. Don’t be that person. THINK
Accepting that your logic can improve is humbling especially to people with fancy letters behind their names. There are Original Truths and there are scores of Disproven Beliefs- history rhymes with the assumed genius of the rulers. Man lives to Prove New Truths. Focus there
