It’s January, a new year, a new adventure, a fresh start.

In April of last year, things were so hard, I honestly didn’t know what to do, except make it through one more day.
In May, I rediscovered @garyvee, who I loved when I was younger, and his persistence led to me finally checking out theses things called NFTs and his project @veefriends. That decision changed my life.
I was completely new to everything crypto and NFTs. The @veefriends community helped onboard me. It was the most welcoming, and kind group and so much fun. There’s a Clubhouse room that has never stopped!! They provided me a home base to start to explore the outer NFT world too.
It was such a beautiful time learning together, watching many start up their own projects too! This led me to some of my favourite OG small communities that gave me such wonderful homes - @Skelebits and @DolliesNFT. There we would chat NFTs every day and I started branching out.
I felt alive again. While things were still incredibly hard, every day was a beautiful adventure full of ups and downs, growing friendships, and a feeling that life could be so much bigger than all the things I had lost.
In July, I found @coolcatsnft and @Metaverse_HQ. It’s hard to even express right now, just how much those two communities have formed me and helped me get to where I am now.
I instantly fell in love with @coolcatsnft, the art, the team, the community, just everything about it. That first week I was asked to become a mod, and it feels like the rest as they say, is history. It’s been a whirlwind since then and such an honour and a joy helping.
In October, I joined the Cool Cats team officially as their Senior NFT Analyst - a dream come true I never expected and I cannot thank the four founders @cloncast, @evanluza, @Lynqoid, and @xtremetom enough. Thank you for having faith in me and having me on this journey.
.@Metaverse_HQ is another home for me in this space. I can’t even count the hours we’ve spent together. They’ve taught me so much, not only about NFTs but about how to support each other in this space - from celebrating our big wins, to supporting each other’s losses and misses.
This year ended on a tough note for me with the loss of my grandpa, but it taught me how much this space is family. The love and support I’ve found here is unrivalled. One of the most amazing takeaways from this year is the connections we’ve made.
As we enter the new year, I often take this time to reflect on the year and look to the upcoming year, but I don’t even know where to begin. What kind of dreams do you make when life is already surpassing them in ways you couldn’t have even imagined.
I still think back fondly to those early days in @veefriends where we were all guessing where and when @veeconference would be, what kind of amazing surprises @garyvee had up his sleeves.
I had been so unwell that attending VeeCon was a huge deal. I made it my goal to get better in time to attend. This was my first goal I set for myself in this space.
As we wrap up this year, not only will I be attending, but I will be speaking at VeeCon, on a list of speakers that I’m still flabbergasted to be on. I will be speaking at VeeCon with Cool Cats… I think it still hasn’t sunk in.
How can life even be this magical.

I can’t think of a more poetic way to end the year.
If I’m being honest, despite how amazing this year has been, the thing I am most grateful for is that I’m still here. I think, how lucky am I to have made it through. And this, this is all a bonus, but how beautiful a bonus this is.
I don’t know what 2022 will hold for us. I know it’s going to be exciting, it’s going to be new, it’s going to be an adventure - just look at how much happens in a week in this space.
This space, this community won’t be this small forever. We’re in a magical time, something many will only get to experience once in a lifetime, if they do, being on the cusp of something so new, where every day we are all creating what the future of this space will look like.
When I can, I try to take a step back from the never ending pace of this space and appreciate how lucky we all are to have found it. Remember to look out for each other too, as while this space is exhilarating, it’s also non-stop and can be challenging for many too. We got this!
So here’s to 2022. I can’t wait to see what it brings, and I can’t wait to do it with you all together. WAGMI ❤️
