9 1/2 timeless life truths (that take a lifetime to learn): 🧵
There's No Room For Regret

In life, there's room for remorse.

Remorse is instructive. We learn from it.

But there's no place for regret.

Regret says, "I wish I could go back and change that."

Do you?

Didn't that event set something in motion you cherish today?
Your Problems Are Internal (Not External)

This is good news.

If your problems are internal, so are the solutions.

You're not powerless. Stop blaming.

You don't have to spend your energy arranging your world in order to be happy.

You can spend it on just being happy.
You Can't Overcome A Bad Diet

This principle applies to our physical bodies.

But it's much bigger than that.

You can't overcome a bad:

- Relational diet
- Mental diet
- Emotional diet
- Spiritual diet

You are what you eat.
What You Feel Is Not Always True

If you have kids, you see it.

You act out of love. They feel unloved.

Their feelings may be real, but they're not reflective of what's true.

Feelings are important but easily misinterpreted.

Use caution when trusting them.
Stop Reporting, Start Analyzing

We spend most of our life reporting:

- "I'm not happy"
- "I don't like this"
- "This isn't enough"

Reporting only looks at what.

Analysis asks why.

Reporting doesn't produce solutions.

Analysis does.
Nothing Good Happens If You Don't Show Up

Most days are a grind.

Work is monotonous. Relationships get stale. Your workout isn't working.

But some days, there's magic.

You're strong, you see progress, you break through.

You don't get one without the other.

Show up.
P.S.

There's a related principle:

People never stop showing up for good reasons.

If someone drops out of your life or off the radar, notice it.

If you've stopped showing up for someone or something, notice it.
A Bad Something Is Better Than A Good Nothing

You hear this all the time because it's true:

Just get started.

Something is better than nothing.

Action begets action.

"Perfect" only exists as an excuse.

Get going.

Everything else will meet you halfway.
How Is More Important Than What

There's a saying in the sales world:

People buy how you sell before they buy what you sell.

Intention and approach matter more than product or process.

This is true in every aspect of life.
You Find What You Look For

You will always find evidence to confirm what you want to believe:

- about yourself
- about your circumstances
- about love
- about other people

You shape your life through your eyes.

Good eyes conquer all.
