I'm surprised that this 2007 TED talk is so rarely shared. In it, Jeff Bezos uses electricity as a metaphor for the Internet's future by comparing the dot-com boom and bust not to the Gold Rush, but to the early days of the power industry.

Jeff bezos talking about the internet in 2004. I keep thinking of how his amazon stock was hammered down then but google was just IPOing so the guy was doing just fine.
