Rowan Williams says people know that what they've got from religion is ethical reflection and maybe some some existential comfort, but he says the hidden genius is they know how to structure time. And when you know how to structure time, you know how to structure attention. And when you know how to structure attention, you take control of your formation, you take control of who you are becoming. It's why they are uniquely good at helping people change over time." - Elizabeth Olfield
