"We have to rely on others, always in almost every domain for information about what is true and what is false. And the people we rely on for that are the people we trust. And this is where groups come in because we trust the people in the groups...
if we trust our own party and don't trust the other party, we're willing to believe all kinds of misinformation if its spread by the political leaders that we actually trust.
And that becomes a vulnerability that we have as citizens as a country for the spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories."
