If you want to be a millionaire, you don't need to build the next Amazon or Apple.

I’ve built 5 million-dollar businesses over the last 2 decades using the same process.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how you can too:
Let’s start a million-dollar lawn mowing company from scratch.

Why?

- It’s low risk.
- Low start-up costs
- Has growing demand
- The competition is weak

Let's map it out together...
1) Before you invest

Ask friends and family if you can mow their lawns and tidy their gardens for free.

If you don’t have the equipment, (buy some) or borrow theirs in return for mowing their lawns.

Take photos before and after.

Gain testimonials
2) Register a domain name

Build a free website on Carrd.

Put your new photos and testimonials on the site.

Place a big juicy call to action button for enquiries
3) Get some paying clients

Ask every family/friend if they will refer you to someone at their work.

Give them a short script about your service and how much it normally costs but suggest they can tell their friends that you'll offer them mates rates on the first booking.
4) Ramp it up

But don’t quit your day job just yet.

Let’s start with one day a week.

Schedule 6 lawns a day on your Saturday.

That’s $15k - $30k per year over 35 weeks (allow for rain)

And you’re only working a day a week.
5) Invest

Now you have revenue, set yourself up professionally.

Get good legal and financial advice about structure.

Purchase some small equipment and tech to help.

Consider grabbing a business credit card for supplies.
6) Add clients

Write a beautiful one-page sales letter with testimonials from nearby clients and deliver it to other homes in the street you’re working in (or want to work in).

No doubt neighbours have witnessed the yard transformations you’ve completed and will be interested.
7) Write offers

Give neighbours an introductory service if they book during that weekend.

Partner with retail stores that have your target audience

Letterbox drop in affluent neighbourhoods

Reward existing clients for referrals.

This is you leveraging others to get clients.
8) Get serious

You’ll probably need to start working another day or two at this point.

Say you did both.

6 clients x 3 days x 35 weeks is $47k - $94k a year.

Plus you’ve still got your income from your day job.
9) Add services

Instead of wasting time travelling between clients, maximise each visit.

Think about window cleaning, gutters, car washing, minor repairs, and high-pressure washing.

This is when you could employ others to help.

Each one could bring in another $50k+ each year
10) Quit your day job.

5 days a week x 6 jobs x $75-$150 = $78k-$157k

Plus add-ons:

5 days x 6 clients x 1 additional service ($75-$150) = $78k-$157k

You’re taking $156k - $314k for 35 weeks a year.
11) Let’s add more employees.

1 employee x 5 days a week x 6 jobs x $75-$150 = $78k-$157k + you

2 employees x 5 days a week x 6 jobs x $75-$150 = $156k-$315k + you

3 employees x 5 days a week x 6 jobs x $75-$150 = $234k-$471k + you
12) Work on rainy days too

What about filling in the other 15 weeks a year with non-urgent work?

Things like:

- Scheduled maintenance
- Indoor cleaning
- Pressure cleaning
- Commercial cleaning (indoors)

Charge what the jobs are worth (not hourly rates)
13) Let’s recap:

You bring in $156k - $314k

Your employees add $234k - $471K

You’re doing work on rainy days $100k - $300k

Congrats, you’ve potentially built a $1 million business using a credit card by cutting grass and maintaining homes.
14) Now scale it.

Take that money and invest in assets to offer future services

Add technology to improve the customer experience

Add digital marketing to bring in new leads

Put your prices up as demand increases

Now you’re a $5 million business.
That's it!
