Videos of an apparent drone strike on the Kremlin overnight. Russia’s state news agencies are confirming the strike. Unclear what drone was used. From the damage, this seems mostly symbolic, at least for now. t.me/vchkogpu/38198 twitter.com/i/web/status/1653738428029194243

This strike, just days prior to the planned annual May 9 Victory Parade on the Red Square, may force Russia to change its parade plans. Moscow is also contemplating a retaliatory strike that may include more missiles and Shahed drones.
More videos of this alleged UAV strike are coming in and are posted online. From the explosion, it also appears that the drone may have been shot down by air defenses, but thats ucnlear for now.

The Kremlin says May 9 parade is still "on". Russian Telegram channels are claiming that Putin continues to work as usual, and that May 9 parade is not cancelled. There is now a prohibition on operating a personal drone inside Moscow territory.
Russian Telegram channels are quick to downplay this strike, psychological impact notwithstanding: "This UAV strike was entirely predictable - if not against the Kremlin, then somewhere in the center of Moscow. Or in another Russian large city. That is why Ukraine was… twitter.com/i/web/status/1653754196238249989
Same Telegram channel: "If Ukraine Armed Forces of have the opportunity, they will try to attack. They hit the airfields (with drones). They hit (Russian) infrastructure. Now, they flew to Red Square. Now, we are not hearing "experts" who said that there is no threat of such… twitter.com/i/web/status/1653754799530168320
"Does this situation affect the outcome of the war? Not at all. It does not affect it tactically, or especially strategically. In general, it does not affect anything, except for the informational component and the psychological effect."
"Listen - accept the fact that the world is not perfect, that we have been cunning in front of ourselves a lot, that we were not good at everything, but we are correcting ourselves on the go. Not as fast as we would like. But we are trying. Well, the enemy is cunning, and capable… twitter.com/i/web/status/1653756312864321536
"So, what is next? There is no disaster. There is a humiliating, unpleasant situation. Next, you have to fight. Draw conclusions from your mistakes. It is necessary to work, to produce new weapons. There will be no sources of threat, and there will be no (more) UAV over Moscow."
Its likely that there will be additional air defenses/EW around Moscow to prevent a repeat of this strike, likely at the expense of other Russian regions and key sites. There is certainly a serious psychological impact, although its unclear how long it will last.
To the point - there was also an apparent overnight drone strike on an oil storage facility in Russia's Krasnodar region. One drone was intercepted and one appeared to hit the target. t.me/boris_rozhin/84574

Russia's Vladimir Kozhin, the first deputy head of the defense committee of the Federation Council: "Russia has every opportunity to counter threats from unmanned aerial vehicles, we will strengthen these defenses many times over."
...and here is a question of scale - can air defenses be "everywhere all at once"? Probably not, but Russian Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev proposed an "invisible dome" that would be installed "in the very near future at all strategic enterprises, at all major civilian and military… twitter.com/i/web/status/1653783325968936962
There are also obvious questions about two men who are on top of the dome during the alleged strike. They could be part of the security team or they can be part of what many are now hinting is a potential "false flag" operation.
The men climb the dome during the second UAV strike - they may in fact be part of the security detail or to inspect any damage from the first strike attempt. They appear not be be affected too much by the damaged drone.
More from Russian Telegram channels: “It is not yet possible to determine the characteristics of the drone from the available video footage, but it is clear that it was an aircraft-type device with a take-off weight of over 20-30 kg and a wingspan of three to five meters."
“It is not yet known whether the drone was launched from the territory of Ukraine or, for example, from the Moscow region. Both options are technically feasible, but differ in design and cost. The UAV was resistant to electronic interference until a certain point."
"The drone could be equipped with a special military anti-interference navigation antenna for military purposes, the cost of which starts at $10,000. It is less likely, but also possible, that the drone was controlled from a distance of several kilometers like an FPV. In this… twitter.com/i/web/status/1653802752886054912
"Such loitering aircraft-type munition is a new type of threat, and methods to counter it are only being developed now. Russian engineers are working on this, but it will take a few more months before they learn how to effectively counteract them." t.me/dronesrussia/22160
Very useful investigation by @GeoConfirmed on where these two drones flew from.

In response to yesterday's attack, the Russian government prohibited unsanctioned drone flying in many regions - map below.
Apparently, the drones that attacked Kremlin yesterday were flying low above ground and were sighted on approach in the Moscow region, but the authorities supposedly ignored people’s alarming calls. t.me/dronesrussia/22179
Russian Telegram is fuming over the drone attack, calling out theft in the defense-industrial sector, and for removal of MOD and civilian officials in charge of security and responsible for import-substitution.
