Happy Easter 🐇 !
Here's my colored illustration for #SEAKEaster
Quick 🧵⤵

1. SEAK provided a high-res line art downloadable PNG.
2. First step was to block all the main colours. This process was quite easy with the provided asset. However, I took a bit longer to ensure the shapes were filled past the line art and there were no random artefacts. I chose warmer, less saturated colours for this piece.
3. Blocking out shapes for the background. Creating beautiful backgrounds/landscapes is one particular area I'm currently seeking to improve. Blocking out the shapes allows you to frame the composition ensuring the main elements are well balanced.
4. Shadows & highlights. This is probably the most fun part of the process. At this stage, the illustration starts taking shape. The values you define provide depth.
5. Rendering the cliffs. I recently found @philipsue_art. He is a terrific artist who renders beautiful dreamlike landscapes. I'll definitely be doing more landscapes studies based on Philip's work.
6. At this stage, I continue to add more details to the background. This includes colour variations to the sky/ocean, a lighthouse, clouds, and waves. The key is not to add too much detail. Keep it simple.
7. Finally, I added grass blades to the foreground for additional depth - blurring it slightly to further enhance the depth of field.

For a bit of extra fun, I also added a fighter/sea plane at the request of @_iClassy_ @StoopidPenguin_ (the pilot) @joxiecoxie & @AttnJam 🥰
8. Thanks for the fun activity @SEAKNFT
(This close-up is seriously PFP worthy)
