Thread
1/7 @JasonPLowery thank you for this brilliant thesis. #SOFTWAR
Quick thread on my takeaways:
2/7 The main argument is that #Bitcoin is a cyber power that can serve alongside US military force protecting cyber thoroughfare by imposing severe physical costs (watts) on belligerent actors, same way US military force is protecting its land, sea, air, and space thoroughfares.
3/7 Cyber-Antlers
Cover art is great. Antlers are a metaphor for softwar or Bitcoin, as non-kinetic non-lethal electro-cyber power projection technology. Antlers are designed to entangle, which allows stags to determine the pecking order without mortally injuring each other.
4/7 Cooperate-or-die/innovate-or-die dynamics between agrarian societies kept us fighting perpetual wars and brought us to a kinetic stalemate (nuclear arsenals/AI drone swarms); made us prone to massive-scale systemic exploitation and abuse from our own abstract power hierarchy.
5/7 War vs. law debate concludes that trust-based societies are prone to corruption, exploitation, and dysfunction; this eventually leads us back to war. This conclusion goes in contrast with principles like "law not war" and "peace through justice" (Hague's Palace of Peace).
6/7 War & Peace
Peace is not an option as long as systemic predators exist. To enable mutually assured preservation, our only way forward is to replace kinetic war with electro-cyber one using decentralized, egalitarian, and physically secured proof-of-work technology.
7/7 PoW can serve as "a sufficient alternative to settling [agrarian society's] disputes, establishing control authority over their resources, and achieving consensus on the legitimate state of ownership and chain of custody of their property."๐Ÿ––
