What do Teslas, Whole Foods, and blue bubbles have in common? They’re all symbols in the status games that you play, even if only on a subconscious level. Why do you play status games? Because striving is in your human nature and status games benefit many areas of your life.

Good read! I think another spin on this is how the internet *can* enable micro communities where you can get status and prestige for things you care about. I think the biggest traps are just status games you haven’t actively chosen. I’m fine getting status for consistently…
