Artist, researcher, educator, instigator. He/him. Co-Director, @creativeinquiry. Chaotic Good.
The new “World Ending Game” book by @everestpipkin, a tool to bring closure, is stunning and timely.
Tangentially related, in directing @creativeinquiry, I have found this book helpful, "What Do You Expect from an Art Institution in the 21st Century?" (2002) by Palais de Tokyo. Consists of extracts from hundreds of interviews.
In 2016, Claire @ntschk, at the time a student in my computational arts course at @creativeinquiry, used automation to produce "So Sorry", a 214-page book containing "every apology I have made over email, with the context of the apology redacted."
I recommend: "Processing" by @REAS & @ben_fry, "Learning Processing" & @thecodingtrain by @shiffman, "Getting Started with p5.js" by @laurenleemack, "Getting Started with [link] by @aparrish, and "Generative Design" by @bndktgrs 🥰
I’m prepping for my fall “Drawing with Machines” course, and I have never been quite so humbled as by this amazing book by @lostritto. “Computational Drawing” is required reading for new-media arts educators teaching #plottertwitter & @DrawingBots material.
If you’re interested in learning more about some of the earliest digital art, I recommend picking up a copy of the London ICA’s 1968 “Cybernetic Serendipity” exhibition catalogue (~$100).
Thanks to this lovely present from @bwycz I am now lucky to be #LivingInData! Amazing work @blprnt!!
