Science fiction writers of the twentieth century imagined where we are today. So here we are, in the twentieth century science fiction future. Overall, they got it right. Now twenty-first science fiction writers must imagine what comes next

The remote workforce, side hustlers, gig economy and small business owners are willing to let go of the security that held them fast to the old system until the old system made their dreams so inaccessible that the price of security was no longer worth it.
