This is Darrell Brooks. At a Christmas parade in Wisconsin, he killed 6 and wounded more than 60 people with his car. For weeks, he's been trolling witnesses and victims--he's staring someone down in this clip.

A country with a proper justice system would have hung him by now.

One of his victims was an 8-year-old-boy. He was walking in the parade along with his brother, who was hospitalized, when Brooks struck.

This is day 15 of the Brooks trial. He should have been sentenced to death and executed a long time ago.

There's nothing civilized or noble or desirable about a system that allows people like Brooks to continue existing. It makes a mockery of justice. It undermines the social order that people like him are allowed to continue insulting the living and dead--with your tax dollars.

Anyway, Brooks should have been executed before he had a chance to strike in Wisconsin. Just a complete scumbag who wasted his life victimizing other people. It's useful to compare him to James Fields, the guy who will spend the rest of his life in prison after Charlottesville.

Brooks had an outstanding warrant related to a sex offense in Nevada when he struck in Wisconsin.

Brooks faced 10 years for the crime, but when the court was unable "to guarantee him a speedy trial due to a backlog of cases and COVID-19-related delays, he was released in February 2021 on a $500 bail."

But the justice system is racist, right?

What did Brooks do while out on bail? Three months later, he was arrested in Georgia after he viciously beat the mother of his child.

In other words, he proved another career criminal like George Floyd who could not be rehabilitated.

The town's black police chief, Daniel Thompson, who helped lead a protest in Waukesha during which his officers knelt before Black Lives Matter demonstrators amid the June 2020 riots in that city, told the local press he was unsure about Brooks' motive.

In the aftermath, Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm admitted that Brooks' bail was set "inappropriately low." Oops!

However, in 2007, Chisholm told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "Is there going to be an individual I divert, or I put into treatment program, who’s going to go out and kill somebody? You bet."

Now Brooks is in court, mocking people, intimidating the judge, all with your tax dollars.

So, what about James Fields? The white guy from Charlottesville.

Fields actually comes from a broken home. His father was killed by a drunk driver before he was born. He had a documented history of mental illness.

No pity or second chances for him, though, because he is white.

He had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of six. He had been admitted to psychiatric care more than once. He was raised by his disabled mother.

It's worth noting that after high school, when he tried to join the Army, a recruiter reportedly encouraged him to stop taking his antipsychotic meds to increase his chances of enlistment.

At 20-years-old, this was his first crime. There was a strong case it was an accident, unlike with Brooks.

And yet James Fields received two life sentences without the possibility of parole and an additional 419 years on top of $480,000 in fines.

So when people say that everyone deserves or gets a fair trial, remember how many times Brooks went free, had his bail set low, had every excuse made for him — and how James Fields will rot in prison for the rest of his life for his first offense

It’s also worth noting the media made a huge deal of how Alex Jones acted in court. Crickets on Brooks.

Because under American justice, some people can commit multiple violent crimes with impunity while others pay a billion dollars for having the wrong opinion.

Common response I’m seeing here is that most people had no idea about the severity of Brooks’ criminal record or the number of people he killed

Yes, that thread from @emeriticus is what sparked my very negative reaction to the courtroom behavior by Brooks. He seems to be intentionally & cruelly re-traumatizing his surviving victims. Worth a read.
