- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2022Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseDiving into this book like was wrapping yourself in a warm blanket! I’ve been a long time reader of the Awesome series dating back to the early blog days - and it was like the feeling of returning home getting to open the front cover of this one and start flipping through the Awesome things, one by one.
There is something both satisfying and addictive reading these - they are all so relatable (remembering the attachment right before sending the e-mail! Flipping over your grilled cheese to see it’s perfectly cooked on the other side!), but also addictive… there have been so many times I was ready to stop reading and told myself “ok, just one more…” at least a dozen times in row!
And a fun new addition to this Awesome book is the community aspect - some entries include hilarious comments from readers of the Awesome community adding in their own anecdotes or funny asides. It really makes it feel like you’re reading along with a bunch of friends.
A must buy for anyone looking for a reason to smile, or wants to share those smiles and warm wishes with the people they love in their life!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2022Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseWhen I first heard about Neil Pasricha’s "Our Book of Awesome," I thought, isn’t “awesome” an overused word? After reading the book, I concluded that repeated use of “awesome” can be justified by its vast range of applicability. Pasricha has a gift of appreciating phenomena that many fail to notice, but for those who are perceptive and reflective, provide an endless succession of uplifts to their days. Why is this book — his effort to spread the word — titled “Our” Book of Awesome? For me, it’s because of the uncanny similarity of so many things that Pasricha finds awesome that I do too.
The great virtue of Our Book of Awesome is that reading it attunes you to countless wondrous things that many people are oblivious to. You can appreciate life better, and feel better, when you’re receptive to the little delights that await you, one of which is the chance to read this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2022Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseWho doesn’t want a little more AWE in their lives? Our Book of Awesome lets you feel a bit better (about the world and yourself) by examples from the author and in delightful, short submissions by persons other than Neil. How great it is to observe, feel and take in the good and to share those feelings with others. Thought-provoking and entertaining, five minutes with Our Book of Awesome will brighten your mood – open the book at random and you will smile. Brilliant examples abound, such as: “Having a great story to go with that horrible bruise” is cause for laughter and remembrance of people, places, and bruises. That’s awesome!
You might even be inspired to start your own list of the wonderful bits of your life. Thanks, Neil, for helping us be gentler to ourselves and others, and for sharing how awesome this life can be. jj
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2022Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseLike other books in the series, OUR book of awesome is written as many, many short stories. I love that I can pick up the book and eat just a few or a dozen. I've had it for a week and am jumping around, probably 33% complete, taking time each day to savor the tiny bits of gratitude and awe that appear on every page. Neil has assembled another stellar array of reminders that life is pretty amazing and fun and filled with little gems... if we just slow down and take notice. I also love that he has intermixed some great stories submitted by his community of other awesome readers and writers. READ THIS BOOK -- YOU WILL FEEL BETTER every time you pick it up and spend a few minutes with it, I promise!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2022Format: HardcoverThis book appeals to me so much. This compilation brought such a smile to my face. It gives a tiny insight into what the person was thinking at that one moment in time. Since the pandemic, I have begun to look for simple things in my life that make me smile. It has helped with my stress levels. It has encouraged me to make note of these awesome things in my life:
Turning on my Christmas tree lights
Reading a book in my nook
Gathering eggs from our chickens
Walking in the forest
If you need to sway your pendulum to the positive, don’t hesitate to add this book to your cart. It is cheaper than therapy.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2022Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI bought three books…one for me and one each for two friends! And YES it is that good. Sometimes I will just open it randomly and get a taste of awesome to lift me up and sometimes I just sit and read it and realize how awesome life really is if you just take a few moments to remember. Sometimes we need little reminders to realize how awesome the little things are. Buy the book. You will not be sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing trip through things that make life beautiful
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseMy daughter (9) and I have faithfully read all of Neil’s previous work together.
In today’s fast pace 24/7 interconnected world of hot takes, dopamine hits, and opportunities to feel inferior to others everywhere you look; our need for gratitude and perspective and reminders that we are good and enough and valued and strong and beautiful are more needed than ever.
My daughter at a school full of children of high achievers found it easy to notice all the things she didn’t have. Neil’s work for a kid who loves to read (she has finished the Harry Potter series SIX TIMES) is a perfect way to encapsulate and share with her and many others that the world is pure and awesome at its most simple levels, and that we have so many small moments to savour and so many things to be grateful for every single day.
The last 2 and 3/4 years have been HARD. Hard for me as a 39 year old dad of 3. But even harder for a 9 year old who does remember vividly life in the before times.
Being grounded and grateful that every day we wake up is a day for love and beauty and magic has been a blessing that got our family through this period stronger and closer than ever, and we have Neil’s work to thank for supporting us in this journey.
Read with your kids. Read to your kids. Read alone. Reflect. Write down your own list of awesome. Grab this book and use it as a tool for perspective, insight and more as we continue down the journey of this crazy ride we are all on together in the path of life.
Thank you Neil for pouring your heart and soul into this important work and providing such a cool way for my tween and I to bond over our shared love of reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Neil has done it again.
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseThe pandemic was a dark time for many people, and yet Neil’s postings of awesome things were a bright note every day. As I read this book, it lifted my spirits to see that I recognized countless awesome things from my own life. What I love about this book is that Neil included contributions from his readers. This book will make a wonderful Christmas gift, so much so that I’ve bought four copies. This is a book that you can read again and again., and makes an awesome contribution to Neil’s works.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have in today's day and age
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseFeeling a little down? Need a quick pick me up? This is the book for you!
Through these short concise reminders of life's little moments, Neil reminds us that it is these little common everyday moments that bring smiles and lift the spirit.
One or two pages max for each tale, it doesn't take long to change your outlook.
Pasricha reminds us that it is by stopping to smell the roses every now and then is a must.
Life is too short not to enjoy the unremarkable moments that get us thru each and every day with a smile. There are not enough smiles in the world these days, and this book will elicit many!

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseI have read all of Neil's Awesome books and love them. The great thing is that it takes you away from your day to day stress. Some of the items you relate to immediately. I love the fact that the book takes me back years as if it just happened. Things I thought long forgotten!
Do not expect a serious discussion of how to be awesome. The truth is we have all experienced moments of awesomeness that are small and personal. This book will take you back to those moments!

4.0 out of 5 stars In Search of happiness? Appreciate the many small things that make you happy
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseAt first, I thought this was a book full of trivialities but while reading it, I realized the premise was this: often, the stuff that makes you most unhappy is difficult to solve, takes time to remedy and can only be partly resolved.
This book focuses on the smaller good things in your life that we take for granted but that can bring respite and a better mood than being hyper focused on what’s wrong in your life.
Instead of being a good read that you put on your bookshelf, leave it out to take a holiday from the negatives in your life and have a better day.
This book can help you stop worrying about the things you can’t do anything about right now and appreciate the good things you’ve got going for you.
