A Happy Pocket Full of Money: Infinite Wealth and Abundance in the Here and Now

Rate this book
A Happy Pocket Full of Money , first self-published in 2001, so impressed Rhonda Byrne, that she asked David Gikandi to become a consultant on The Secret.

In A Happy Pocket Full of Money , Gikandi explains that true wealth is not about having buckets of cash, but rather understanding the value within. True wealth flows out of developing "wealth consciousness," that incorporates gratitude, a belief in abundance, and an ability to experience joy in life. He explores how recent discoveries in theoretical physics are relevant for the creation of personal wealth and shows readers how to create abundance by saving, giving, offering charity, and building happy relationships. A Happy Pocket Full of Money
--How to use an internal mantra to build wealth consciousness.
--How to be conscious and deliberate about your thoughts and intentions.
--How to decide, define, and set goals you can believe in.
--How to act on your beliefs and overcome challenges.
--How to incorporate gratitude, giving, and faith to experience abundance and joy in life.
This inspirational book will change how you view and create money, wealth, and happiness in your life.

Out of the 50ish books I’ve read about manifestation and the law of attraction in my life, this is one of the better ones.

It does a really good job of describing quantum physics, the law of attraction, and manifesting techniques while still being inspiring and not repeating the exact material in other books.

Many LoA books read exactly the same, but this one felt a little bit different and unique. I’ve been studying the law of attraction since I was a kid, and I found myself thinking a few times as I read this, “wow, I never thought about it like that.”

This book also helped me have a break through involving quantum physics, time line hopping, and everything “already being yours” which is an aspect that I’ve always struggled to grasp.

I’m glad I finally read this one. It’s been on my radar for about 5 years and I read it at the perfect time.

Just 3 days after starting this book and having that break through, I manifested an unexpected raise, my husband got a raise and a bonus the next day, and all of our investments are up! So it’s helping a lot.

I’ll definitely be rereading this one so I can keep picking up new things and staying motivated and inspired. I know the next time I read it new things will jump out at me.

Just okay...

I loved the affirmations “I am wealth. I am abundance. I am joy.”

The rest of the book is a repetition of all the emotional denial books out there. ie, “Turn your cheek away from any emotion except joyful ones”. Like those more difficult emotions magically evaporate into thin air and bring wealth.

Spiritual bypass, such as this, sell. It’s time we wake up, folks, to our true emotions and give them real life. If we create a safe space to let these emotions move, that’s where true wealth lies.

Wow! What a great book...

If you are a fan of The Secret and now some law of attraction principles, you should definitely read this book!

Gikandi does a great job of relating how our thoughts and attitudes towards money, wealth and abundance directly contribute to the abundance in our lives.

Even though, law of attraction principles are based on quantum physics and this book relates to the reader in a way that makes law of attraction a bit easier to understand.

Repetetive, but consciously so - in the manner of affirmation. I 'went' with the entire contents and can accept and absorb all the quantum physics, until the author starts drivelling on about off-shore accounts - having spent most of the book talking about leap-of-faith quantum activity that defies such notions. It was not the best of its kind despite the great title!

Constantly claiming something is 'scientific' doesn't make it so! Really struggled with this book, but tried pushing through for book club. I couldn't get past the unnecessary references to God. Some broad ideas I could see value in: that we give money its value, that the only time is now, but overall I found the book to be a repetitive and circular read (don't allow negative thoughts, but if you do have negative thoughts don't resist them, but don't have them in the first place!!) without practical application. Some of the 'advice' seems like a brand of toxic positivity that I am not here for. Although stated in the book many times - 'what we resist persists', I will resist persisting with this book!

Required reading for any spiritually curious, abundance-seeking human. Read it. Read it again. And again.

Просто думай про мільйон і він у тебе буде. Або ні. Ну живи в моменті і не парся про це. Але постійно уявляй багате життя. Послухала цю книгу виключно через те що мені її порадили. Не раджу.

This book is dense and sometimes hard to read, but it’s packed with great motivational points and law of attraction goodness. It takes a lost of brain power to get through, but every time I read some of this book my mind immediately starts focusing back in and getting it done. It’s a good book to have sitting around, and to pick up form time to time to remember why you’re doing it.

Recommended by one of my business mentors I initially assumed that by the title this was going to be another cheesy book about money and I couldn't be more wrong.

If you're familiar with reality transurfing concepts and quantum physics this book will be perfect reading for you since it touches on that as well without being so "woo". I've listened to the audiobook and found myself pausing to reflect, taking notes or going back a few seconds due to the number of golden nuggets in this book as well as positivity and a much better way to look at the world and your life.

I'll finish with one of my favourite parts from the book:

"One of the greatest laws is the law of giving. It is a phenomenal law. Give freely and happily. Always form a habit of giving cheerfully. Give first before you receive. Whatever energy you give will come back to you in an amazing way. You may give away your time, for example, and it comes back to you much later from an unexpected source in an unexpected form in a way that benefits you greatly. You cannot insist on a particular way and time it will come back to you, but you can be assured it will come back in the best way for you. Give. Give. Give. And do so cheerfully and freely. It is the energy behind the giving that matters so do not give grudgingly. The law of cause and effect guarantees that you shall receive plenty for what you give."

Will definitely get back to this book every now and then.

This book is great if you want to shift your money mindset into a more positive one. There is a lot of repetition and affirmations. It will challenge some of your negative beliefs.

However, there is a LOT of spiritual bypassing and victim-blaming here. This is basically the Law of Attraction. Some parts of it are great to put you in a more "abundant" mood. I found a lot of the beginning of the book empowering. By the end of the book, I got tired of all the repetition.

But it also encourages toxic positivity by suggesting that you repress your negative emotions and just "think positive." This is denial and causes more harm than good in my opinion.

I prefer something more embodied, holistic, and grounded.

AWESOME book! I have so many notes and pages bookmarked to reference everyday. I really feel as though I have experienced growth in how I view money, wealth and finances. There's still work to be done, but I'm definitely on the right path.

Gikandi discusses focusing on our inner Being to manifest abundance into our lives. The book looks at money through a spiritual lens, which resonated with me.

Worth multiple reads to fully understand the concepts - quantum physics, law of attraction.

It's all just magical thinking really, isn't it? I'm not sure how much of this trope is grounded in actual reality and not just Law Of Attraction/manifestation land.

LOVED THIS BOOK! This helped shift my mindset around money, abundance, wealth, etc. SO MUCH. I have noticed an immediate difference. Split into short paragraphs so it’s easy to incorporate into your day. There’s also questions in the back to reflect on- looking forward to doing some journaling on these!

Having watched the movie “The Secret” which first introduced me to the law of attraction, this book seemed to help make more sense of it all (while I didn’t align with everything taught in the book) but still was good because it certainly seemed to help explain law of attraction a bit better...

This book is about the abstraction of money from the perspective of quantum physics. It is abstract but I still loved it! The author talks about the ways in which you can manifest wealth or push it away with thoughts, actions, deeds, and deeply held beliefs. I really believe that this book has made a difference in my life.

One caveat to fellow readers: I kept waiting for some kind of concrete prescription for meditation, manifestation, etc. That never really came. The meat and potatoes of value for this book is in the first third. But making my way through the end was still a delight of a reminder of all the ways we can see wealth unfold in our lives. Read it!

This book provides an extraordinary new way to look at money. I was halfway through the book before I realized that the point was written on the back cover. It says, "True wealth is not about buckets of cash . . it is about discovering value within yourself and other people". A message that eerily coincides with many religious teachings. I'm going to read this book again.

This one digested slowly as I moved through working on my mindset.. it’s not too much about money or money making tactics - it’s more of: working on your mindset and perspective of abundance in general. It will help to have a goal of wanting to expand your viewpoint that will help to enjoy the book.

It's one of those books that's like half spiritual nonsense, and half inspiring shit. Some of it is goofy and repetitive, but some of it is fun to read and worth reminding yourself things you probably already know.

A book I will read again and again! Not because the content is new (you will probably read things you've read before) but more because of the writing style and the format.

RATE: 4.7/5 = more accurate

For me there is no beginning on how to even start this review… this book is great. Listened to this book 3 years ago and kept re-listening it because this information changed my life completely.

Having this book physically - knowing it’s in my shelf, makes this book even more powerful. The physical version has little more information inside than the listen version.

This book explains different varieties of topics, although they make more sense if you combine them in whole. What you’re going to read is information that you’ve been using your whole existence, since birth, only using it in ‘the wrong way’ and mostly limited.

In A happy pocket full of money David Cameron explains that the past and the future is an illusion created in the mind and the only time you have is NOW. Yes something happened, as a NOW form and when ‘time passes’ you observe that memory as ‘the past’. The same goes for thinking about the future, it’s something that doesn’t exist until it’s been observed as ‘the future’. You think about the past and future at only one moment in ‘time’ and that is NOW. The only moment to think about something is NOW, even though you spend your time living in ‘the past or future’.

A very common and famous experiment is Schrödinger’s cat. The cat in the box is both dead and alive at the same time, it only becomes one of those 2 when you lift the box and observe it that way. Which is dead or alive.

He learns that NOW is the only moment you have to create wonderful opportunities and succes in your life, in every area you prefer.

What I love about A happy pocket full of money is the affirmations that are appearing throughout the entire book (something which isn't in the listen version!). Almost every page, 2-4 times; "I am wealth. I am abundance. I am joy.". - affirmations said in the NOW moment

The rabbit hole of quantum physics goes deep and honestly, there isn’t a limit to where you can go. Life is spiritual, where there are endless possibilities. This book will show you! Even when you think it isn’t possible, this book will also show you why!

This book changes your life, in fact it already is changed ;)

This was a really good book and highly informative.

I took a while to read this book because I had stop-and-start moments (life happens). This book is really deep and causes you to think, now there are names that are stated to imply the Name of God. But I say GOD! Other than that, it really is challenging you to change your mindset regarding yourself, if your inner conversations are belittling, harsh, and not kind then this is the world that you are building, and this is what you will attract. The mouth creates your reality, if your speech is loving and kind, and builds you up, then this is what your world is building.

Do you know the saying choose wisely? This is it and don't get me wrong here I know that changing your mindset, and your inner conversations will take a little time. But you can start by just writing positive things down about yourself and then go back and read them to yourself. Repetition is the key because it will cause you to create a new subconscious. This is not a one-and-done, then everything will change for you, no, you must create the repetition to begin making changes for the better in your life.

I can go on and on but do a Google search on how changing your mindset will begin with learning repetition. I will give you an example, if all a person does is stroll on social media all day, watch reality television, gossip, etc., this is your mindset, this repetition of drinking all of this negativity has created your subconscious, all it knows is what you have been pouring in. It doesn't have pure things in it, what I just wrote is that is what lives in your subconscious and this is the only thing your conscious mind knows.

It's time to change it for the better, it's time to write a new story about yourself, change your inner conversations, and switch your focus from nonsense to purpose.

Well Until My Next Review...Ciao!
