Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Title: Kindle Bookworm: 46 Tips & Tricks to Make You a Kindle Expert Author: Maneetpaul Singh
This reading experience was unique in the sense that I read the book on my phone, and had my earphones, laptop and Kindle device alongside to test the tips in real time. The author’s unpretentious style of writing drew me right in. I've owned a Kindle for 5 years and have only now realized how much can be done with it. Here are some tips I liked: - Highlighting text, adding notes and using read.amazon.com on a computer to review highlights across books - selecting sentences and translating them within the app (I tested this from English to French) - setting the cover of current book as a wallpaper - disabling touch so you can read (maybe while in bed) without worrying about touching the screen - setting up a Kindle email to receive e-books from other platforms. I tested it with a free e-book from Project Gutenberg, and the Kindle cloud had it ready to read in seconds.
Good and very informative book. As the author at the end says, all tips might not be helpful but knowing them is good. I personally liked 10 features- Refund Option, reading info shortcut, Page Turn animation, report content error, Power saver and whisper sync disabling, Project Gutenberg and Gum road, Vocabulary builder and its usage. "Personal Book Summary" was the most attractive and useful suggestion to me. Overall its a good book.
I’m a Kindle power user and Maneetpaul clearly runs through the obvious and not so obvious tips and tricks while using a Kindle. Loved the open and friendly writing style.
An easy to read yet informative look at how to maximize your Kindle reading skills and pleasure. You can never learn enough on how to get the most out of your Kindle and reading and this helps you do it. A worth while investment.
The author correctly stated that Kindles have lots of features rarely used. I found a couple that save me time and enhance my experience. Big thank you.
The only book you need to refer to if you are new to Kindle. The author also has some videos on the same topic on his youtube channel but the book is way more exhaustive and covers everything.
I found Kindle Bookworm is a helpful guide for anyone who wants to learn more about how to use their Kindle. The book is well written in a breezy conversational style and the author does a great job of explaining the tips in a way that even beginners can understand. Wholeheartedly recommend.
The intent of Kindles is to give the reader a distraction free experience. In the "Kindle Bookworm", you'll find 46 reasons why Kindles are anything but distraction free. Using the Kindle requires tapping and swiping in all points on the screen -- top, bottom, left, right, top left, bottom left. Beside this unless you're reading a frivolous romance or shallow self-help, any book with the least amount of complexity is impossible to navigate. The Kindle is fine if your read straight from page one to page 300 but reading with tables, charts and all the other additional materials is impossible. To prove it try reading a book of Greco-Roman mythology. The "46 tips" contained herein are really essential needs to know when reading on a Kindle. Alternatively, reading on an 8" android table with the excellent Kindle app is far more efficient and enjoyable. The added benefit is that you have access to many more reading resources e.g. Google Books, Nook, local libraries, Zinio, etc. etc. Finally, beware if you buy this pamphlet the author will presumptuously sign you up to is weekly newsletter and apologize for sending you multiple unsolicited emails.
Maneetpaul does not disappoint. I have several of his books and they are all informative and an easy read. I found some of the suggestions to in the book new to me and helpful. I recommend this book if you want to know more about your Kindle.
