Will Pryce is an award-winning photographer who originally trained as an architect at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Art, and photojournalism at the London College of Printing. His books include Big Shed, World Architecture: The Masterworks, and, with James W. P. Campbell, the widely acclaimed Brick: A World History.

The color photography is excellent and a rather comprehensive collection of buildings, primarily related to the Western tradition of architecture, are included. Will's choice of lighting conditions shows that he is acutely aware of their ability to bring about the best of the building being photographed. As a photographer, I found this book at the highest standard of excellence. The set of buildings photographed has no omission that I can think of and their accompanying history well researched. I cannot even single out one of the memorable images in this book as I feel it'll be unjust towards the others.
