Two young brothers make a frightening discovery about the neighbors.

Do robots secretly want to rule us all?

A scientist goes to the extreme in order to change the future of mankind. But is it possible to change our destiny?

Tales From Another Dimension is a strange and fantastical collection of ten short stories. Robbie Sheerin is inspired by classic sci-fi, and invokes frightening twists and turns with each story.

Travel to another dimension and meet strange characters—sometimes human, and at times not so human. They will make you question the solidity of the Earth and mankind. Explore prejudice, fear, imagination, kindness, empathy, and human frailty.
“The Truth Comes in Storms is wonderfully evocative -and the twist caught me completely unawares. Sheerin is a writer to keep an eye on!” - Rob Yescombe.
Writer of the movie “Outside the Wire”

These stories are strong echoes of the classic science fiction of the 1950’s, and bring back fond memories of the Twilight Zone. - Noel Chidwick. Founder and editor of the award winning sci-fi magazine Shoreline of Infinity

….Sheerin’s Sci-if shorts engage the mind and senses with dread and wonder at the same time. What happens on the moon….stays on the moon, even it’s from different planets.- ARZONO Publishing

"With a voice of clarity and surprise, Robbie Sheerin is well worth the quick and wondrous read each of his stories provides, the insight into our humanity (or inhumanity) they present, and the lasting impression they leave. Indulge and entertain yourself!" - Jason J. Marchi, author of Venus Remembered with Ray Bradbury and the Barnes & Noble recognized bestseller The Legend of The Sleeping Giant .

Robbie Sheerin's insightful story "The Protector" is a chilling tale that underscores humanity's most troubling shortcomings. At its core, it reminds us that we must remain open-minded and compassionate toward those who are "not like us" or suffer the consequences…..

…"The Future You Imagine, Doctor, Is Not The Future Of The Future" is inventive and imaginative. In my opinion, all tales about our future should be appropriately apocalyptic. They should shake the foundations of our hopes and dreams …..- Leith MacArthur, author of "The Death of Harry Crow", from The William Snow Series of thrillers.

Refreshing and Thought-Provoking

A compelling collection of short stories, shot through with humour and surprise. Like the best sci-fi, no matter the planet or the time, the key is to shine a light on our own human existence, and evey story in this collection does that, offering profound questions for we humans to ponder. Excellent, and hopefully there is more to come from the author in the future.

I had a lot of fun with all these different sci fi stories. We got to explore the anthology with monsters, dystopian worlds, aliens, robots and so much more. And all of these were bite sized tales that pulled you right in.

I would definitely read more by this author in the future!

An emerging Sci-Fi fan favorite: that’s how I would describe Tales From Another Dimension by Robbie Sheerin. This is an interesting collection of Sci-Fi short stories by Robbie Sheerin. The impression that I got as I read through the stories was that it could so easily be adapted into a television series for Sci-Fi stories just as The Twilight Zone was series for spooky, light-horror stories. As I read, I kept drifting to the line of thought of how I could envision developing each short story into an hour-long television episode. Weather it be an android who believes that he is human being hunted as a rogue. or an intergalactic diplomat realizing that he has just become a zoo specimen, Tales From Another Dimension delivers. I read Tales From Another Dimension over several evenings, but I could see it as a pool-side read: read a story, take a dip in the pool, read a story, take a dip in the pool, repeat. Maybe even a glass of wine or two. I can whole-heartedly recommend Tales From Another Dimension for those who enjoy Sci-Fi and/or short stories. A superb collection of short stories, the type mostly with an enjoyable sting in their tail. Yes, in fact, some of the twists took me completely by surprise, and one, although a similar type of twist to one I've come across before, was one of the best ways of executing it I've read. That story also is in two parts, the second part further on in the collection, which I thought was a very clever and interesting way of arranging the book's content.

These stories are compelling and engaging and had me reading ever onward. Whether about mad scientists types, the robot pursued, hermit types on beaches (On my favourite of the collection, 'Protector') or many other fantastic sci-fi concepts, this is one to read.

Robbie Sheerin’s Tales from another Dimension is a collection of short science fiction stories that explore words beyond our own.

The stories pose questions about our humanity and they all twist and turn in unexpected ways. I think Mr Sheerin has a bright future in the SF realm.
Take a look at this collection and see if you agree. I was pleasantly surprised.

A finely produced, thought-provoking and wildly original collection

Thanks Mr Sheerin for this refreshing and fun read. His skilful penmanship and his ability to surprise with his twisting plots has resulted in a totally absorbing collection of short stories. Cameo appearances from historical characters who rub shoulders with artificial intelligence and androids… keep ‘em coming, Robbie

“Tales From Another Dimension” is reminiscent of The Twilight Zone where things take unexpected turns and nothing is as it seems. If you love good old fashioned sci-fi then don’t miss this great book of short stories!

A very enjoyable collection of sci-fi short stories. They reminded me of stories by Ray Bradbury with a twist at the end. I don't want to ruin the read for anyone else by saying too much, but you will be thinking one direction and then need to reconfigure your thinking at the end.

Tales From Another Dimension is a solid collection of sci-fi shorts that honours the classics and feels like a trip back to the golden age.

There’s something wholesomely familiar about Robbie Sheerin’s stories. They’ve been written with a sense of wonder which tints them with a retro flair. And I love a good dose of retro.

In terms of scope, you’ll find a wide variety here, ranging from robots to aliens, and even a resurrected HG Wells himself — which is extremely appropriate, given the style of the book. In fact, I can’t think of a better allegory for what this book feels like than a reanimated HG Wells!

There’s certainly enough variety to keep you turning the pages. None of the stories feel too long. In fact, I’d be happy for some to be longer. The concepts are meaty enough to get you thinking, and there are plenty of speculative elements to keep you coming back for more.

A couple of highlights include “The Future You Imagine, Doctor, Is Not The Future of the Future” — a story which riffs on time travel and the consequences of discovery, and also “Martian Food” — a Philip K Dick-esque alien invasion ditty.

If you’re a stickler for “show, don’t tell,” then you may find some of the entries to be a little on the expository side. But in terms of delivering short, smart narratives which leave you with plenty to think about, these little gems work well. The twists usually do a nice job of turning things on their head in a way that doesn’t feel too contrived.

An acknowledgment in the book explains how Robbie Sheerin’s daughter insisted that he tell her bedtime stories when she was a girl. That ‘bedtime story’ element carries into this collection because there’s something personal about each of them. It’s the writer’s personal connection to these stories that you can almost feel through the pages, and it imbues them with a peculiar charm.

This is the kind of sci-fi that won’t push the boundaries — rather, it makes a home within them. But it’s all the better for it. There’s plenty to explore among the big ideas that made the golden age so precious, and there’s value still to mine in the foundations of classic sci-fi. If you’re a lover of short stories, this is a worthy collection to have on your shelf. And if you prefer your sci-fi tinted with a little more gold, then you’ll be very happy these Tales From Another Dimension have made their way into ours.

Tales from Another Dimension, by Robbie Sheerin, is a collection of ten science fiction short stories. Inspired by classic science fiction, Robbie Sheerin brings us the fantastic and the frightening with these ten stories, whether it’s on Earth, in space, or on another world.

I enjoyed this collection of short stories. For the most part, what connects these stories is the science fiction genre. Two stories follow the same characters: "Part 1: The Last of Your Kind” and “Part 2: The First of your Kind.” And this two-part story gives us a unique take on how Earth became inhabited by humans.

I had a little harder time getting into some of the stories than others. “Dangers of Atmospheric Entry” was one such story. It’s not that it was poorly written (none of the stories are); I just had a harder time suspending my disbelief in this story. While others, like “The future you imagine, Doctor, is not the future of the future,” I was able to buy into completely. I suppose it came down to the fact that some of the stories seemed more plausible than others, as if some could be real or come true.

With this said, I did enjoy all the stories. And since Robbie Sheerin was inspired by classic science fiction, it felt only natural (to me, at least) that HG Wells was included in one of the stories. I truly liked these stories and wouldn’t mind reading more from Robbie Sheerin, even something that’s longer, like an actual novel.

Tales from Another Dimension, by Robbie Sheerin, brings us great science fiction stories. Even with the stories being short, it’s obvious that each one has a well-developed world that helps ground the reader in the story and great characters that we can get behind, and even cheer for.

I enjoyed reading this book even though it was not in a genre l usually read. The author presented a book with ten short stories each with its own twist. Almost every time there was a surprise ending, which l found added to the entertainment factor. In fact, when l was finished the book l could not tell which story was my favourite! Having read this book there is a good chance that l will read more books from this author. Of course, l recommend this book to those who love this genre as well as those who want to try something new!!

What a fantastic collection of short stories! Each tale transports you to a new world with its own unique twist. While some stories captivated me more than others, all were intriguing and left me wanting more. Robbie Sheerin has a remarkable talent for crafting narratives that keep you guessing until the very end. His ability to blend suspense, creativity, and thought-provoking ideas into concise stories is impressive. This was my first time reading anything from Robbie Sheerin, but it definitely won't be my last. I'm excited to see what he comes up with next, and I'll be eagerly following his future projects.
