Rambo: 7 Seasons at Sainik School

Rate this book
An exasperated "Yours is the worst batch I have ever seen!" coming from a frustrated teacher has been every student’s pride.

No treasure can be compared to the bond of crazy school friends. Group punishments, covert pickle parties, bunking school to watch movies, examination fever and summons from the principal’s office are all part of Rama and his friends’ lives as they engage in banter, tackle bullies and progress from grade to grade.

Rama was an earnest, innocent boy with simple goals when he joined Sainik School in the sixth grade. He gradually turns into Rambo, an impertinent, flippant and much-loved classmate. While finding their way and cheering each other, Rambo & his friends, kick up a storm of mischief, much to the consternation of their teachers. But Rambo forgets his sense of purpose. Join Rambo’s journey in this rib-tickling, rollercoaster ride and his path to self-discovery.

I have always had a interest towards boarding schools since I hadn’t been to one and have seen them being represented mostly positively in popular culture. So, I was very excited to know that Rama has written a book about 7 seasons at Sainik boarding school and got a copy as soon as I could.

This being his first book, I must appreciate Rama as the writing style is easy to read and flows very well. It is very sweet book it was nice to read about the school days and village life.

I liked the little wisdoms sprinkled here and there, “Our thoughts are like stray dogs which chase us as long as me are scared. The moment we stand still they simply fade away”

I have known the author for sometime now and his this wisdom had always been visible in his thoughts & conversations and now it’s in his book.

Th e first time author gets 4 stars. I would recommend everyone to grab a copy and enjoy the story.

I am sure we will be delighted with many more works which dwell even deeper into the truths we all want to know and desire.

Some other worthy lines:

"Never panic. Ever. Think patiently, There is no problem without solution.

“Life becomes miserable to those who look at it as an obstacle and a miracle to those who look at it as an opportunity. The choice is ours.”

“Hell is not another place.
Here. Or there.
It is inside us.
If we choose to live anything other than peace. Or love.
We live our hell depending on the intensity of fear that we imagine.”

𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞:

The story is about Rama, his humble village life, and how his life took a whole different turn when he entered Sainik School. In India, Sainik schools were founded with the goal of drawing in gifted individuals and fostering them from an early age in order to develop them into leaders and produce men of integrity, and character.

This book captures the essence of boarding schools and school life in general, how living alone and facing our own problems can transform a boy into a man. It will make you nostalgic for your schooldays and transport you back in time. The novel smoothly takes you down memory lane.

The Sainik school culture and what happens behind those walls have always captivated me, and the author narrated everything with such ease, sprinkling pearls of wisdom and humor along the way, making it a really enjoyable read.

I always enjoyed reading the book because of the gorgeous writing style and fantastic flow it had all the way to the end. The story's organic evolution and incredible structuring both stand out.

I believe that everyone, regardless of age, will enjoy reading this book since it has something to offer everyone, has lessons you can apply to your life, and will make you laugh and remember the good times you had in school.
